When is the right time to telephone the Jewish Bereavement Counselling Service?
Most people need some time to adjust to the death of a close family member or friend. You may feel the need to talk to a counsellor soon after your loss, or the need may not arise for some weeks or months. Whenever you telephone, your details will be handled in confidence and with discretion. You may refer yourself, or be referred by your GP, Rabbi, social worker, relative or friend, with your agreement.
How long will I see the counsellor for?

An appointment will be made for a one hour session and normally you will see the counsellor weekly, at a time convenient to you. The number of sessions between you and your counsellor will depend on your individual situation. The arrangement may vary from a few sessions to over a year (e.g. including the period after the stone setting).
